The in-house finishing services operated by SHERMAYNES ENGINEERING LIMITED have been developed to achieve the same high quality and consistency found throughout the operation.
Our extensive powdercoating facilities allow high throughput while retaining flexibility. For repetitive items, our on-line powdercoating plant with its 110m conveyor includes iron phosphate pre-treatment and an automatic spray facility. Larger or more complex components are processed in the off-line plant with 20m3 gas fired box oven. All powdercoated items receive phosphate pre-treatment. The coating operation uses epoxy or polyester thermosetting resins, or combinations thereof, in formulations tailored to the end use of the component. These resins give a durable, attractive finish which is effective in a wide range of domestic and industrial situations.
In addition to our powder-coating plant, we have a separate, self-contained wet spray facility. Again, pre-treatment is applied to all components prior to coating.
Off-site finishing processes include zinc plating and passivation, wet-spray of oversize items and chemical etching and blacking. Please call for details.
As with all of our processes, finishing is available as a sub-contract service in its own right. All finished components are tested to customer specifications to establish the integrity of the finish and its suitability for the ultimate working environment.
